Address: Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Postcode (Poskod): 55100 Kuala Lumpur

Area: Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (KL / WP)
Jurisdiction: Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur DBKL - KL City Hall (See Local Govt)

Directions: Approach from Jalan Tun Perak or from Jalan Pudu via a slow crawl. There is a multi-storey car park and a hotel above the Puduraya station building but getting up there is tricky with the one-way streets and incessant jams.

Update: The Puduraya Bus Terminal will be closed for about four months due to upgrading work, starting 19th March 2010. A temporary bus depot at Jalan Hang Tuah has been set up for for southbound buses. See directions and map to the new Terminal Bas Hang Tuah

Flip-Flop Update: At the last minute, the announced closure was postponed to an undisclosed date.

Yet Another Brainwave: It was reported that from April 12, all bus services to the north and the south operating from the Puduraya Terminal will operate from the Temporary Bus Terminal at Bukit Jalil (Parking Lot F - same as the one used for festive exodus). For more info, call the hotlines at 03 2078 7017 and 03 2078 6018.

Finally: After several postponements, the New Puduraya opens its doors on 16th April 2011.

Info / Insights: Serving as a hub for outstation buses since 1974, the iconic Puduraya will soon be converted into an inner-city bus terminal. This is inevitable, given the traffic mess it has spawned with wayward buses and taxis stopping haphazardly in its vicinity. Touts also prey freely, both inside and outside the building.

Public transport users suffer again from lackadaisical enforcement, poor planning and incompetent management of resources. South-bound inter-state buses from here will soon be served by yet another faraway transport terminal to be known as the Bandar Tasik Selatan Integrated Transportation Terminal (ITT-BTS).
