Ho Chi Minh City, 6th October 2008: The V Sign or Peace Sign -- first and second fingers raised and parted, whilst the remaining fingers are clenched with the palm facing outwards -- was the sign adopted by American war protestors during the Vietnam War. Today in Asian countries, the V Sign is often shown when someone sees a camera. The school kids here appear to be as happy as the many adults I met. Probably not because they won the war but because their rapidly growing economy is exploding with opportunities and changing lives.
