Singapore, 26th September 2009: A Smiling Tony Fernandes --- the 1Malaysia F1 Team Principal and investor -- responding
to a naysayer who reminded him that bigger F1 teams have failed. "Bigger airlines have failed", he retorted. The AirAsia boss
was stressing that the inverse is indeed possible. After all, his tiny budget airline grew into a global powerhouse with
more
than
6000 employees, while bigger ones fumbled because of the financial meltdown, travel scare and outdated business models.
With that track record behind him, he is confident the new motorsport venture will not only be self-sustainable
but may
be
profitable
in
the
long
run.
Tony was at the paddocks of the Singapore F1 circuit to meet members of the international
racing
fraternity.
He was seen recruiting talent and negotiating contracts, putting together the new team. See Next Pic
