New Appointments At The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre 

Kuala Lumpur, 13th November, 2008 – The purpose-built Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) has announced the following appointments and promotion:  

Chef Leslie Teong
Joining the culinary team as Executive Pastry Chef is Mr Leslie Teong.  With over 10 years of experience, Chef Teong is a specialist in pastry art, showpieces and desserts, with a vast knowledge in crystalline sugar art following training at one of Europe’s most famous pastry schools, the Ecole Gastronomique Bellouet Conseil in Paris, France. Chef Teong will be responsible for managing the Centre’s pastry kitchen and further developing the team’s talent in pastry, cakes and confectionery offerings. 

Mr Kong Chee Ming
Mr Kong Chee Ming has been appointed Asset Manager, responsible for upholding the Centre’s pristine conditions through its stringent maintenance programme. With two decades of industry experience, Mr Kong will ensure the implementation and maintenance of the Centre’s comprehensive building and equipment repair, including the planning of progressive training programmes necessary for the development and skills improvement of the department’s team.

Ms Haryati Md Haidar
Ms Haryati Md Haidar has been promoted to Management System Manager from Assistant Manager of Information Technology. Joining the Centre in 2004, Ms Haryati is a key member in the implementation of the Centre’s integrated Food Safety, Quality, Environmental, Safety and Health (FOQESH) management system and is responsible for the Centre’s certification of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Green Globe Benchmarked (Bronze) status and OHSAS 18001. She will retain responsibility for overseeing the Centre’s business application systems.
