Kuala Lumpur, 19th May 2008: When I walked into the office of the Chief Abbot to greet him, he asked me in a very concerned tone:
"Will you get into trouble for blogging?" I replied: "Why didn't you ask Pak Lah that when he came a-calling yesterday?"
There was awkward silence before he suddenly burst into laughter.
The gentle and jovial Chief Priest of Malaysia also heads the
Ti-Ratana Welfare Society which he founded in 1994. The community centre runs a shelter for women, an old folks home, children’s homes and an orphanage with about 200 children. Seen here with him are some of the children from the homes.
