Hong Kong, 16th November 2007:
I was at the launch of LG's new Viewty mobile phone in Macau, earlier this week. Since Hong Kong is only a hovercraft ride away, I test-drove the 5mp camera phone (or phone camera?) on the colourful streets of Kowloon and Victoria.
The camera is just one of its many outstanding features. It also handles high-speed video recording (120 fps), web browsing, e-mail, FM and DivX playback; just to name a few. The very smart phone comes pre-installed with one-button access to Gmail, Blogger, YouTube, Google Maps and Google Earth! Coupled with blistering fast 3.6G connectivity, it leaves other current touch-screen phones in the dust.
I was most fascinated with the manual controls option on the Viewty's camera. On a slow ferry over choppy seas, I manually tweaked the exposure to rein in the light on the bright white Star Cruise vessel and to deepen the turquoise shades of the ocean.
