Miri, 14th May 2008: Merry Miri. For locals thirsty for entertainment or alcohol, there is always Miri in neighbouring Sarawak.
About two hours drive from Bandar Seri Begawan via an undulating coastal road, the town is very receptive to the Brunei Dollar.
By a lucky co-incidence, the Miri International Jazz Festival was staged the night I drove into town.
