Ulu Kelang, 13th September 2009: Give Her Food, Shelter and a Little Kindness. In return, a dog's honour is
master's property even though it is being razed to the ground. These two dogs from a kedai potong kereta
('half-cut' scrap yard)
were caught in a pre-dawn fire. With fire engines screaming and explosions rocking the place,
they must have been scared like everyone else there. Yet, they put on a brave front and stood steadfast on duty.
I too was scared when I approached them to see if they were alright. The fire was intense and they looked like some
giant mutant Rottweiler-Doberman cross-breed. From experience, I know that no matter how fierce the animals behave,
possess the instinct to sense and
a stranger who mean well. When I reached them, I was rewarded
rigourous licks on my face and on my camera lens. The dogs were later reunited with their tearful owner.
